Building a Schedule That Respects Your Time — and Your Clients'

14 August 2025

A productive day in private legal practice isn’t about volume — it’s about intentionality.

When I’m working from my home office, I treat it like I’m walking into a courtroom or a high-stakes negotiation: alarm set, calendar tight, tasks prioritized. Remote work demands discipline. Without it, time becomes slippery, and client needs fall through the cracks.

Here’s what’s helped me:

  • Commit to a structured start time (even if no one is watching).
  • Plan your day the night before.
  • Honor your calendar like you’d honor a court deadline.

Your schedule should reflect your values. Mine reflects preparation, follow-through, and focus. When your day is built on those pillars, your clients notice — and your results follow.
